Credit Card Payment Disclaimer
If you choose to pay by credit card, please review the following information before proceeding with your payment:
- Payment authorization issues
Due to stricter international payment controls imposed by some banks and card issuers, credit card transactions may fail or require multiple attempts to succeed. This can affect the rental charge, the security deposit pre-authorization, or both, and occurs in approximately 20% of transactions. - Bank pre-approval strongly recommended
To reduce the risk of payment failure, we strongly recommend contacting your bank before payment—and ideally before traveling to Vietnam—to inform them of your trip to Southeast Asia. This allows your bank to pre-approve transactions from our region. - Two-factor authentication (2FA) limitations
If your card requires OTP or two-step verification sent to a local mobile number, you may be unable to complete the payment while abroad. We recommend asking your bank to enable an alternative verification method (such as email-based OTP, often referred to as E-iOTP or iOTP). - Payment processor and currency
Online credit card payments are processed via Stripe UK. As The Extra Mile is registered in the United Kingdom, GBP is our preferred currency.- GBP and EUR payments incur a 3% processing fee
- USD payments incur a 4% processing fee due to additional Stripe charges
These fees are borne by the customer and apply regardless of any “no bank fees” feature on your card.
- Alternative payment method
If you wish to avoid card processing fees, you may choose to pay by bank transfer. - Payment transparency and support
If you have concerns about payment security or transaction status, we are happy to provide confirmation details, including Stripe transaction screenshots or the Stripe payment ID for bank verification.
