In Vietnam, the law states that a driving permit can be obtained from 18 years old. 16 and 17 years old teens are legally allowe to drive a 50cc bike.

At The Extra Mile however, we require a minimum age of 21 years old for all bikes.

Contact us immediately in case of an issue with the bike.

In a city rental, we will quickly provide a replacement bike to the customer while taking the rented bike for a check. Once the issue fixed, the original bike will be exchanged back for the replacement bike with the customer. The replacement bike may not be of the same category as the originally rented bike. For example, we may provide an automatic bike while you are renting a manual one. We will only provide a replacement that matches the driving licence requirement of the originally rented bike.

In a road trip rental, we will support you via phone to find the quickest and best solution. Mechanics are available all around Vietnam and at least a temporary solution can be given until a solid one with our partners is. We may communicate with locals around you to support in finding the quickest solution.

Upon providing the bike to the customer, our staff will take sufficient pictures to document the external condition of the bike. Upon returning the bike, these pictures are compared with the bike’s condition to verify whether there is any new damage.

If you have the damage waiver, you won’t need to pay for any damages to the motorbike.

The Extra Mile reserves the right to refuse service for a few different reasons.
As a general rule, we do not tolerate any act of discrimination or offense towards our staff. This is especially valid regarding racism or xenophobia against Vietnamese nationals. At any moment, should we estimate that the beavior of a customer is not tolerable or could make our staff uncomfortable to the level of raising a concern, we will refuse service without the need of providing a detailed explanation.

Other reasons we may refuse service for are the potential mismatch between the customer expectation and the service we wish to provide. Customers not accepting our conditions, FAQs and general service information will be refused.
Another example is the price expectation, for which we do not accept negotiations. We are free to offer deals as we see fit, however bargaining efforts will not be successful since we normally run at maximum capacity.

In case of theft, the customer will be responsible to compensate us for the value of the bike based on the rental contract. We will support via the legal way with a police report and other documents needed, however from our experience stolen bikes never get found by the local police. The only way to prevent theft is to park safely and never leave the bike unattended on the street.
Check our video about safe parking to prevent bike theft.

Each booking requires a 100 USD pre-deposit, while the remaining amount is to be paid upon picking up the bike. The pre-deposit is non-refundable if the customer cancels prior to the bike pick up.

If the customer picked up the bike already, then the 50% unused time policy applies for the refund. The security deposit is returned following the normal return procedure.
