Do I need insurance when renting a motorbike in Vietnam?

The bike will have compulsory government insurance, but it doesn’t cover much. Travel insurance or personal insurance is recommended.
The Extra Mile offers Damage Waiver from 2025, this covers all damages to the bikes, with a few exceptions.
