In a city rental, we will arrange to go with the customer to the respective police station and guide throughout the process of paying the fine. We will check periodically on the government’s system for potential fines on the rented motorbike’s licence plate.
For road-trip rentals, we will check in the government’s system by the time of return of the bike. In occasions, a fine may be issued up to 3 days after the infraction, hence it is possible that the bike was returned by then. Should it be the case, we will reach out to the customer to make a charge on their credit card to cover the cost of the fine. We will of course provide the necessary documentation.
For both city rentals and road trip rentals, if our team must handle the fine on their own, we will charge an extra 1,500,000 VND for our labor. Sorting out a fine in Vietnam is a complicated and time-consuming process, furthermore if there is a reduction of points it will affect us negatively. This fee is to cover our labor to handle the fine on behalf of the customer.
