Disclaimer for bike returns outside of Ho Chi Minh City

There are 2 important factors to consider when renting one-way contracts with us: 1. Damage waiver and the security deposit, and 2. Minimum number of days per route.

From 2025, The Extra Mile rentals can be returned in several cities other than Ho Chi Minh City. Bikes can also be picked up from Da Nang and Hanoi now (on top of Ho Chi Minh City), however our service is limited in those scenarios.

We encourage customers to take the damage waiver for one-way rentals; this ensures a smooth return of the bike in most of our affiliated locations.

With Damage Waiver:

If the deposit was paid by bank transfer or credit card, we can return the deposit immediately after returning the bike in Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Da Nang, Hanoi and Ha Giang.

Without Damage Waiver:

The bike will need to be assessed for damage by our partners, which is ony possible in Da Lat, Da Nang and Hanoi. If dropping off in these cities, the deposit may be held for up to 48 hours pending damage assessment.

If dropping off in other locations like Phu Quoc or Nha Trang, we will need to have the bike returned to us to assess damage if any. In these cases, allow up to 7 days for the deposit to be returned due to shipping times.

Payment Method:

Security deposits of rentals ending outside of Ho Chi Minh City must be paid by bank transfer or credit card. This way, we can send the deposit back to your account or credit card right after you return the bike. Be mindful that some credit card companies and banks require a certain amount of time before reflecting on the returned amount in your account.

Shipping fees:

We have a standard 70 USD shipping fee set for most cities: Saigon (if starting in a different city), Phu Quoc, Da Nang and Hanoi.

Note that HCMC is our only actual office. All other locations are pick-up and drop-off points. If for example you wish to start renting and returning outside of HCMC, we will have a minimum required number of rental days. This will ensure to cover the cost of our double shipping needs, while still charging only 1 shipping fee to the customer.

Due to extra logistical arrangements, we charge 85 USD in Hoi An and Hue and 100 USD for Ha Giang. We only charge one shipping fee that depends on the ending city.

Minimum Days per Route:

We require a minimum number of days per one-way rentals to make the contract viable for us. Some rentals will require us to ship the bike twice, while we only charge the customer for 1 shipping.

When you select a motorbike for a road trip rental, depending on the starting and finishing cities you chose, the calendar will block a number of days to match our minimum requirement. For example, a Saigon-Hanoi rental will require a minimum of 10 days rental.
