Buying and sourcing service of second-hand motorbikes in Ho chi Minh City for expats in Vietnam. A to Z motorbike Service with The Extra Mile
WHO IS THIS SERVICE FOR?
- Any person wishing to buy a second-hand motorbike in Vietnam but does not know how to assess its condition and legality.
- People who are less experienced in bikes and less knowledgeable about the Vietnamese second-hand market.
- People who may have motorbike knowledge but do not know where to find the best or at least the most reasonable deals.
Pricing:
1. Full sourcing A1 bikes 2,500,000 VND
2. Full sourcing A2 bikes 3,500,000 VND
Full sourcing means that we find the bike ourselves. Alternatively, the customer may present a bike he/she is interested in and hire only a mechanical and legal check from us. In which case:
3. Mechanical and legal check of one bike: 1,200,000 VND for A1 bikes; and 1,500,000 VND for A2 bikes.
4. Check of one more bike at the same or close location: + 600,000 VND
As of now, A1 bikes are considered bikes with engines of under 175cc, and A2 bikes with 175cc or over.
WHY SHOULD YOU TRUST US?
In the last decade, The Extra Mile has built an excellent network of dealers, distributors, and importers. By now, we can ensure that we will know where to get the bike desired and for what price.
Unlike the usual middle-man business model. The Extra Mile charges a set sourcing fee for finding the motorbike. The buyer then purchases the motorbike at market value direct to the seller.
We provide a quality control check of the motorbike before purchase, and we will assist in the after service when, and if it is needed. Basically we will remove all the dangers and ambiguity of trying to buy a motorbike in Vietnam’s very difficult and complicated motorbike market.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Filter Requirements:
- The customer sends us their requirements for the bike to source. We use them as filters.
- Bike selection: the customer must have an idea of the bike of type of bike to source such as a model, brand or style.
- Maximum budget: for us to ensure the request is reasonable and feasible.
- Intended date of purchase: action must be quick for second-hand purchases, if the customer is not ready to buy and needs a week or longer, it is better to start once the customer is ready to purchase.
2. We create a chat group to introduce a few choices to the customers. The bikes will be presented with pictures and a quick description. The customer can evaluate and then decide to see a specific bike or more than one. Be mindful that the bike will be sourced at an exterior location, not at The Extra Mile.
3. Once the customer has selected one or more choices, we make an appointment to see the bike together with the customer. At this point, our team will require a non-refundable deposit of 1,200,000 VND which is our minimum fee for the check of one bike. Our staff will head to the appointment to perform the mechanical and legal check only after receiving this deposit.
4. Once the deposit is made, our staff will meet the customer at the appointment to check on the bike or bikes. Should the customer not purchase yet, we may arrange a new appointment if there is interest. The fees and deposits required will be communicated prior to each visit to ensure that our staff are compensated for their time regardless of the result of the visit. In case of visiting multiple bikes at one or more locations, our staff may offer a few free checks if it is convenient enough, we will charge the extra 600,000 VND per bike if we believe the time spent warrants it. All fees will be transparently communicated before taking action.
5. When the customer decides on purchasing a bike, we will bridge communications with the seller to ensure a smooth payment and delivery process. Our team will then bill the remaining fee to the customer.
6. Our team will still be in touch with the customer to support with early ownership matters such as the first maintenance or with advice to keep the bike in proper condition.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:
- The minimum budget we accept is 25,000,000 VND. Under this budget, we are unable to vouch for any bike due to low quality or age.
- The Extra Mile does NOT offer a warranty for these bikes. The sellers do if communicated pre-purchase.
- The Extra Mile’s responsibility ends at providing the motorbike to the customer.
- Consider that all second-hand motorbikes will need a thorough maintenance and the replacement of a few key parts. The average range of maintenance post-purchase of a second-hand motorbike in our experience is 2,000,000 VND to 4,000,000 VND.
- Post-purchase, we can provide maintenance and mechanic services.
- There are bikes we will not accept sourcing for. Please, take a look at the list of bikes we work with here.
