The Extra Mile provides one-way motorbike rentals in Vietnam for road trip between Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi and more.

What motorbikes can go on road trip and one way rentals?

All our motorbikes can now go on road trip and one way rentals. EXCEPT Electric and 50cc.

How much is it to rent a motorbike from one city to another?

You can find the daily rates directly on our motorbike-rental page. Long term rentals available. For specific prices per day, please refer to our spreadsheet.

Can I return in a different city to the one I booked?

Yes, you can start or finish at the following cities:

  • Phu Quoc
  • Saigon
  • Da Lat
  • Hoi An
  • Da Nang
  • Phong Nha
  • Hanoi
  • Ha Giang

We charge a standard 60 USD shipping fee for one-way rentals.

The cities of Phu Quoc, Hoi An, Phong Nha and Ha Giang will require an additional fee that may range from 15 USD to 30 USD depending on the bike rented.

Where are your offices located?

Our offices are located in HCMC and we arrange the shipping from Phu Quoc ourselves.

For Da Lat, Da Nang and Hanoi, our customers may pick up or drop off at Tigit Motorbikes.

Flamingo Travel for Hoi An and Style Motorbikes for Ha Giang.

At Phong Nha, we can arrange the transport via Phong Nha Farmstay.

Damage Waiver and Crashing the bike

The Extra Mile introduced Damage Waiver on all its bikes from 2025.

This is an optional payment customers may make which is an insurance payment. Customers who opt for this option do not need to cover costs of damages if any. As long as the bike is brought back to us, the security deposit will be returned.

Be mindful that loss of the motorbike or accessories provided are not considered damages. In case of loss, the items must be repaid to us following the values stated in the rental contract.

Border crossing by motorbike

We do not allow any border crossing. Customers will not be able to cross a border with our rental bikes since we control the ownership.

Can I use the train or bus to send a motorbike to another location?

Only if agreed in advance, the customer may make their own arrangements to send by train or bus. In which case, The Extra Mile will pay the security deposit back only after receiving the bike, accessories and assessing its condition. Ideally, customers should use our extensive network covering the most important cities of the country for a smoother pick up or return.
